Domestic violence radio interview:
Franchie Joy is a director, producer, actor and singer / songwriter from Detroit, Michigan. She believes in work that makes a difference. Her song WE'RE THE POWER ! was inspired by the events in FERGUSON and NEW YORK, but it's actually about fighting oppression in any form -- whether it's bullies, domestic violence, police brutality or terrorists.
A staunch advocate in the fight against domestic violence, Franchie wrote, directed and produced her short film on domestic violence entitled WHAT GOOD IS THAT MAN. It's an unapologetic, in-your-face approach to bring this issue to your attention and end this tragedy once and for all !!
As an actor, Franchie's roles include the films SILENT ASSASSIN and THE INCORPORATED. She has performed in A JOYFUL NOISE honoring Mrs. Lou Rawls.
.
Theatre roles include CAGES as the harrowing child abusive mother. She also portrayed Mrs. Marcus Garvey in CATCH THE TIGER chronicling the epic 1920s battle between infamous civil rights leader Marcus Garvey and equally infamous FBI director J. Edgar Hoover.
